Reducing Smoke Virtually Eliminates Cancer Causing Toxins

warehouse fire in Böblingen, Germany

You can easily reduce cancer-causing toxins in smoke by applying 1-3% F-500 Encapsulator Agent in the water stream. This reduces the carcinogens everyone on the fire scene is exposed to. Independent tests show toxins are reduced 98.6% and smoke is reduced 97%. Plus, the scalding steam quickly turns into a warm vapor.

This should be a major concern for every firefighter.

It’s not magic; just a unique solution – F-500 Encapsulator Agent.

F-500 EA extinguishes fires three ways. In addition to removing the heat and encapsulating fuels, F-500 EA interrupts the free radical chain reaction. This reduces the airborne particulates, greatly reducing toxins in the smoke. F-500 Encapsulator Agent is well-suited to Class A, Class B polar and nonpolar, Class D, three-dimensional fires, and is the only agent recommended for lithium-ion battery and transformer fires.

Watch the video to see how F-500 EA quickly changes the black smoke to a warm, white vapor. This means the cancer-causing toxins are reduced.

How to Handle Fires at Your Facility

F500 logo featured image

If you have any fires at your facility, water is not the answer.  Water does not penetrate under the surface of piles where fires can burn continuously. Water does not cool efficiently and water must never be used on Class D metal fires due to explosions. Foams are designed to form a blanket to separate the fuel from the oxygen. Meanwhile, foam traps in the heat and combustion continues beneath the surface of piles. Foam, also must not be applied to Class D fires. Powders can be applied to Class D fires, but they don’t cool. You will have re-ignition.

If any types of fires are a threat at your facility, there is a simple solution – F-500 Encapsulator Agent.

By educting 1-3% F-500 EA in your hand lines, you change the cooling mechanism of water from steam conversion to thermal conveyance. F-500 EA can be delivered from a fire extinguisher, standard firefighting nozzle or fixed suppression systems.

With Class D metal fires, the protective skin of F-500 EA prevents the water drops from converting to explosive hydrogen and oxygen.

Watch the video to see what happens when water is applied to magnesium. F-500 EA is applied without dangerous explosions and rapidly reduces the temperature from 5000ºF to under 100ºF in seconds!

Video – F-500 EA Helps Extinguish a Huge Warehouse Fire

warehouse fire in Böblingen, Germany

This impressive video was taken by the media covering a huge warehouse fire in Böblingen, Germany. After extensive testing, the entire region of Böblingen had recently converted from foam to F-500 Encapsulator Agent.

On June 11, 2014, the Reisser AG bathroom fixtures plant became the largest fire in Boblingen since World War II. Damages exceeded $57 million and required 450 firefighting personnel for several days.

F-500 Encapsulator Agent was used to cool a fire wall against the intense heat to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent 16,000 ft2 storage area and a four story office building. F-500 EA at 1% held the fire back for over five hours. Loss of the office building could have exceeded 285 million dollars.

The limited supply of F-500 EA was successfully used to cool a wall that prevented the spread of the fire to other parts of the warehouse and a four story office complex.

F-500 EA has been used on many impressive fires and in some cases was the only agent capable of extinguishment.

How To Make Water More Effective When Suppressing A Fire

Making Water More Effective

Water versus fire. The everlasting struggle between elements. When fighting a fire, water cools down the source (fuel) of the flames and with enough water, you can douse any fire and remove the heat from the fuel. The problem with today’s modern fires is the fire is just too hot for the water to reach the fuel before evaporating. The problems of today’s fires cannot be solved with a blanket of foam or powerless water additives.

Modern Day Fires

With the introduction of the latest technologies, you’re facing fires that include lithium ion batteries, metallic components that can burn up to 5000 degrees, and resource restrictions (drought or in the middle of nowhere). What we really need is a change of heart about the suppression of these fires. It’s no longer good enough that a fire eventually gets extinguished. We need to start protecting lives and property in a better, smarter fashion.

How Encapsulator Agents Can Make The Difference

Encapsulator Agents (F-500 EA) is a super serum for water. It makes water 20 times more effective. Which means more heat is removed more quickly. To give an example, think of a ping pong ball as a normal water molecule. Enough “ping pong” balls can eventually suppress a fire. Add in F-500 and that ping pong ball turns into a bowling ball making the knockdown and control of the same fire much easier and much faster. The upgraded F-500 encapsulator agent molecule draws and shares the heat from the fuel. Think of a copper rod touching an electrical source. The electricity would race away from the source. This is how encapsulator agents drastically improve our fights against fire.

Imagine putting a fire out in seconds instead of minutes. Hours instead of days. It’s all possible by making the choice to change what we’re using.

Watch the following video to see the difference.

Stern Oil Fire – Case Study F-500 Encapsulator Agent vs. Mil-spec Foam

F-500 Encapsulator Agent Extinguished the Fire After Foam Was Applied Unsuccessfully for 4 Hours

In October, 2006, firefighters were called to extinguish a fire at the Stern Oil page1image3016Company in Council Bluffs, Iowa. When they arrived, flames were coming out of the windows and roof. They began an interior attack. A number of explosions occurred and the floor was very slippery, so the firefighters withdrew.

The Stern Oil warehouse had 21 tanks containing motor oil, cleaning solvents and hydraulic fluids. In total, there were about 125,000 to 150,000 gallons of flammable liquids. Most of the tanks were still intact.

Sixty-five firefighters from twelve fire departments were called to the scene and eventually airport crash trucks from nearby Bellevue, Omaha Airport and Offutt Air Force Base arrived to assist. The three crash trucks all carried top quality, mil-spec foam.

page1image26472The initial explosion occurred at 4:30 a.m. with firefighters arriving a short time later. By 9:00 a.m., the fire was an inferno extending 100 feet in the air. The local fire departments and crash trucks exhausted all of their foam and were just trying to keep the fire from spreading.

The president of Entire Recycling in Rockport, MO, Jim Gerking, heard about the fire on the radio and called the fire chief at Lewis Township Fire Department. He told the chief he had a product called “F-500 that forms a micelle around hydrocarbons and also cools rapidly.” Chief Blackburn replied, “Bring it.” Jim arrived at 9:00 a.m. with 96 five-gallon pails of F-500 Encapsulator Agent. Jim had learned about F-500 EA after a tire fire in Nebraska City, NE in 2002, where F-500 EA saved the day.

At 9:30 a.m. the three crash trucks applied 3% F-500 EA from three directions in a technique called “surround and drown.” The fire was under control by 11:30 a.m., thanks to F-500 EA.

Conclusion

Pails of F-500 Encapsulator Agent at the scene
Pails of F-500 Encapsulator Agent at the scene

Time and again, F-500 Encapsulator Agent is called in when everything else has failed. If F-500 EA extinguished this fire when it was fully involved it could have easily extinguished this fire when firefighters first arrived. Rapid cooling would have quickly curtailed the explosions and as a bonus, encapsulation would have made the floor non-slippery.
