High-Voltage Transformer Fires

…after the dry powder and foam failed, FDNY HazMat Company 1, users of F-500 since 2002 for 
flammable liquid spill control,
 suggested the use of F-500 for
 the transformer fire. The F-500
 Encapsulator Agent was ap
plied and extinguished the fire 
within 2 minutes.

Three-Dimensional Fires

NFPA 11 – Low, Medium and High Expansion Foam Standard – Annex A.1.1 specifically states, “Foam is not suitable for three-dimensional flowing liquid fuel fires or for gas fires.”

Attended Ethanol Safety Seminar

Very nice presentation. Sadly it’s very biased towards AR-AFFF. They really really need to look at the benefits of F-500 on ethanol. Arguably more effective on Class A, B, C, and D fires, at lower usage costs.
